Lanzarote is to a distance of 1000 km of peninsular Spain and to 100km of the African coast, it is the most oriental of the canary islands. It occupies a surface of little more of 800km2 and its relief is low and little mountainous. The peak altitude does not reach the 700 meters on the level of the sea. It declares Reserve of the Biosphere in 1993 by all the natural values that we found in the island, among them one of the most famous in Spain The Nacional Park of Timan faya.
The annual average temperature is of 20º c, very similar to the one of the sea. In August it is of 24,6º c and in January of 17º c. It is an exceptional climate due to the geographic situation as to the influence of the sea. Although the desert of the Sahara this closely together, the climate is not desert because cold the sea current comes from the Gulf of Mexico and acts like atmospheric regulator, mainly in the most coastal zones.
