Costa Cálida is situated in the south east of Spain, the first village is El Mojón and goes until Carolina Beach, in Aguilas town. La Costa Cálida has 250 kilometres of coast line. To the north lies the Costa Blanca and to the south lies the Costa de Almeria. We can enjoy with one of the more beautiful natural accidents in the Mediterranean sea, La Manga del Mar Menor. It is a peninsula which runs parallel to the coastline thus forming the Mar Menor (small sea). It is Europe's largest salt water lagoon over 170 square kilometres of shallow water surrounded by the towns of San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera, Lo Pagan, Los Alcázares and La Manga, to name just a few. In Lo Pagan town for example we can find therapeutics muds which are perfect to relieve rheumatic and skin problems.
The sea water in the Costa Cálida is rich in mineral salts and iodine, very warm and very pleasant for bathing. This area is an important holidays place in Spain and in Europe where you can practise a lot of water sports, rest in the sand or taste the Mediterranean gastronomy in one of the restaurants you can find in the area. With 320 days of sun per year, temperatures range bewtwen 14C-22C in winter and 20C-35C in summer.
The weather, the gastronomy, the activities we can practise, the friendly people and the lovely villages we can visit, makes the Costa Cálida a perfect place to live or to spend your holidays.
